The 10x optical zoom is not its only feature. The Kodak EasyShare Z915 offers amazing user control, quick photo taking, and a bevy of setting modes. There is a total of 17 scenes from which to choose. The standard portrait and landscape are present, but also included is snow, fireworks and Beach.
Video is standard these days, but the Kodak EasyShare Z915 surprises once again. While shooting video, you can direct the camera to zoom in as needed. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it zooms. But at the rock bottom price that the Kodak EasyShare Z915 is on the market at, this is a powerful issue. The zoom feature is great, but the video quality is average. Tests resulted in a few fuzzy .mov files. It seems that the auto-focus feature takes a bit to focus as you zoom in and out. But, if the camera is primarily for picture taking, don’t let the lack of professional video abilities deter you.
One of the best features in the Kodak EasyShare Z915 is the exposure-bracketing option. You can set this to take up to three shots in succession. This makes getting “The shot,” mission accomplished.
When it comes to image quality, the Kodak EasyShare Z915 steps up to the window. Let’s face it. When it comes time to develop those 1st year Birthday photos if the picture quality is not superb, the camera is a failure. Overall the Kodak EasyShare Z915 receives high scores. At the large picture sizes, some distortion maybe evident, but color representation and exposure levels are spot on. One thing you may want to have handy before taking your Kodak EasyShare Z915 to the beach is a set of extra AA batteries. With an average shot ability of 194 before killing the batteries, it doesn’t meet industry averages. Most mid-sized point-and-shoot cameras are able to take at least 300 pictures before exhausting batteries.
When shooting pictures or taking video, you will notice a 2.5 inch LCD screen. There is no optical viewfinder, but honestly, how many people use this? The LCD screen is so much easier when snapping the shot when the smiles are ready. And then, there’s the infamous Share button.
One of the benefits of an EasyShare is the “Share” button. Hit the Share and launch the Koday EasyShare Z915 software and send those precious memories to Grandma. Grandma will love it, and you will love the Koday EasyShare Z915.
